That is confusing. You filed yourself, correct? So then, you weren't supposed to sign part 8 because that is for another person to sign like a lawyer or whoever else filled out the paperwork. You filed yourself so you were correct in leaving it blank. It is most likely that your signature went out of the box and if they were scanning your papers, it was rejected due to that.

Wait, I think I got it. You signed part 8 also? I think that was supposed to be additional space for part 7 and for the other person who filed out the paperwork (if there was someone else), so you should have left that blank instead of signing.

Do it all over again. Print out new one, and I am pretty sure that this was the reason. I read that letter you received again and it states......"Your Signature or your parent or guardian's signature in the "Signature of person preparing Form, if other that above" block is not a valid signature for this purpose.". So you did sign where you weren't supposed to. Just make sure to not sign that part and make sure your signatures are in the block. Make your money order out to US Department of Homeland Security. Good luck!

Did you sign part 5? That's the one that needs to be signed by you, not part 6, not part 7.
