Renewing when making 30K > a year

Hi guys! I have a question. When filling out form I-765 it requires to state income in order to determine economic necessity. My only issue is that I make 30K a year. Do you guys think this will be a problem? Please advice.

I doubt it, but take in mind I765 can be denied while I8 can be approve but not the other way. You could say people depend on you to continue providing for them. However... are you renewing or how are you making that money?

I'm renewing. With my initial approval I was able to get a job at an ad agency in New York. I live on my own now so I do incur a ton of expenses plus i help my family on the side whenever I can. I know for a fact I have to put what I make but I'm not sure on the expenses and if it's enough to justify the renewal.

I have seen a lot of people ask this question.

You live on your own. You need the money to support yourself. You have bills. You need money for future health expenses, unexpected expenses, etc. I don't think you will be punished for doing fine on your own. If you were to lose your EAD, you would have none of the above.

Also, you are paying your taxes (I am assuming), so you are giving your part! It isn't like you are pocketing all of the money.

Just explain your expenses, and that you are saving up to buy a car or a house or more schooling. It is unlikely they will not renew your EAD based on that, since $30,000 isn't a large income.

^This. Just make sure to put all of the above on your I-765 worksheet. Also include that you need to maintain work authorization in order to keep your employment and not leave your employer in a lurch.

At what point does your income become too large to qualify for an EAD?

It doesn't make sense to me to reject someone's I-765 application because they're making too much. After all, higher income higher taxes, right? USCIS must know that there are a lot of highly educated DACA recipients, and they're not all going to get minimum wage jobs after they get their EADs.
