Can I change my status?

Hello, I came to the US as an EWI at the age of 4. I got my work permit a month after I turned 18. I remember reading somewhere that a minor cannot accrue unlawful presence and since I received deferred action when I turned 18, I technically only accrued unlawful presence for a period of less than a month. If I fix my EWI through AP, would I be able to apply for a green card and eventually citizenship? Should I bother speaking to an immigration lawyer at all?

Ok two things-

1-By obtaining DACA before reaching 18 and 1/2 years old, you have not accumulated any unlawful presence but since you EWI what this means is that if you remain under DACA and eventually marry a USC you will then be able to consular process WITHOUT the need to file a I601 waiver.

2-If you decide to get advance parole and are parole back in, your previous entry without inspection will no longer matter and once you marry a USC you will be eligible to adjust you status in the united states without the need to go back to your country.

This may or may not be a stupid question, but is there a way for me to apply for a visa without having to marry a USC?

Your best bet is through spouse.

DACA does not grant us a "real" status or one with potential doors. Remember DACA means you are deferred from being deported. That's all DACA means
