Yes, some people may say you don't need photos, or a copy of your approval letter, or your I-94... but those people are entirely too cavalier about their dealings with the DHS. Maybe they're being extra lenient with DACA applicants, but I remember the times when they would reject your application for having passport photos that were 1/16th of an inch out of spec...

don't need to do that unless you write information down.

On page 7, as far as I can tell, you need to fill out Part 8, items 1a-2 even if you don't have to fill anything else in. Might as well sign at the bottom of the page anyway.

part 1.a. gets auto completed. also part 2. gets auto completed. Part 3.a and so on are left for additional information.

what part of Additional Information don't you get?

If you have NONE, then you leave that whole page blank. If you have information that didn't fit elsewhere (e.g., Addresses) then you obviously have to sign it.

stop giving out false information.

Use common sense.

There's nothing false about what I'm saying.

For people who have additional information, they have to sign it.

For people who don't have additional information, signing it doesn't hurt them one bit.

For an all-inclusive checklist (and not one that targets that your unique butterfly circumstances), might as well include the "sign there" step. Use your brainbucket and look at the big picture.

people don't have common sense, they come on here and ask the dumbest questions. So don't add extra steps that don't have to be followed. What if somebody ONLY signs that spot but forgets to sign the more important part of the application, put emphasis on where it NEEDS to be singed and not page 7. Page 7 is basically a waste of paper unless you have information, so it does not need to be signed.

If they're smart enough to print out a checklist, but dumb enough to not follow clearly written steps on it...

... well, you can't make everything idiot proof.

Yes, you may have spoken with some immigration agent on the phone who said "uhh.. I don't think you need them?" and some people may have gotten lucky by having the immigration officer overlook the photo REQUIREMENT, but the filing instructions clearly SAY MUST. Not should, not can, but MUST.

The worst advice anyone can give is to not follow the instructions in the immigration paperwork to a t! I've been trying to get legal status through my USC family and have been following the workings of USCIS for close to 15 years and have read enough (possibly apocryphal) stories of people's paperwork being refused or even denied for missing pictures or even for having pictures of the wrong format (!) to make the hair on my back stand whenever I see people saying to ignore the super clear and simple instructions.
