I just came back from Mexico after Traveling with Advanced Parole, Thank God!! it was and amazing feeling being able to visit Mexico and seeing some of my family after a long time.
After I filed Advanced Parole for humanitarian reasons because a my grandfather has a serious health condition. It took about 3 moths for me to get approved and received the advanced parole.

I was confident that I wouldn't have a problem being allowed back because I don't have a criminal record or anything like that would make me inadmissible. Although, I need to accept I was a little nervous because I didn't know the airport very well and wasn't sure were I was going, however when I got to the immigration officer, he was friendly and polite, and asked for my visa, then I showed him the advanced parole, He ask me if I was adjusting my status (not so much because he needed to know, but because he wanted to advice me on how long my process will take and kind of give me an idea about how the process works.)I was a little confuse for a minute but then I realized he was just being nice. He then took my fingerprints and picture and then ask me to wait for another officer who would escort me to a waiting room. then another nice lady came along with another person and escorted us both to the immigration room. There was about 15 other people there waiting as well most of them were Chinese and Arabs/ or Muslim, & Indian. ( around 6 pm) Houston International Airport. The room has a steel door and once u are in there u can not go out for any reason and u are not suppose to use any electronics or cell phones in there. A lady(Indian) try to walk out of there to go to the bathroom while an officer was taking in a couple other people and she almost got jump over. An immigration officer yelled at her and told her she couldn't go out and needed to stay inside, then she said she needed to go to the bathroom and the officer said "ok u need to let us know and then an officer will escort u". then a Chinese girl try to text her friend, she said; but she also got yelled at. Their English wasn't very good and even though there are signs posted on the wall I guess they didn't notice or didn't understand. The officer said " u can not use ur cellphone here" she said "I just want to text my friend" the officer yelled " u can not use your cell phone in here" then she put it away. I advised u planned ur trip with enough time to catch the next plane if u are doing a layover, so that u don't end up missing ur flight. when I first saw the other 15 people I was thinking " wow, this might take a while" but thank God, it only took about 10 minutes and an officer call my name, ask me if I had any food or livestock with me, I said no, he then stamp my passport and gave it back to me. No other questions ask. He said u are ready to go on with your trip and open the door for me.
I didn't have any issues or any other problems with advanced parole.
As I mention before I was thinking it was going to be a while before all the other people were taken care of, but I know God was there helping me all throughout the process, and two people were called in front of me, One to be interview, and another to continue his travel then I was so surprised but at the same time thankful I didn't have to wait any longer

I can say if very safe to travel with!!
I definitely recommend getting advanced parole if u need it!!

Thank you to everyone else who has posted information and have shared their experiences for DACA and advanced parole its been great help to me and that is one of the reason why I decided to applied for it and also shared my experience.

I also hope its helpful to those in need of more info about advanced paroled.

Thanks for sharing! It helps fellow dreamers to know that they shouldn't be afraid to use advance parole for any reason.

Hello,

I came across your thread after a few hours of research and am so happy to read that there is chance of this working out. My lawyer tells me there shouldn't be a problem but also says its not a guarantee but my husband and I have decided to take the risk. My only questions about this whole process to you is...

1) What letter or documentation did you use to get the AP approved? My grandmother is sick as well and don't know if just medical records will suffice.

2) Most importantly, how long after being back in the US where you able to get permanent status?

I appreciate any information you can give me, so far yours is the only successful story I could find. Thank you!

We just got back from mexico yesterday using advance parole for humanitarian reason. We highly recommend it, we had no issues.

First of all my husband is DACA (just recently renewed it)and he applied march 27 and USCIS received application on march 31, it took 5 months to get approved even with attempting to expedite. My husband was approved on august 25, received ap document in exactly a week, and document said we had to beback in US by sept 14, 2014 so we only had couple weeks!

We flew out of LAX airport international Friday morning at 9:50am, however we got there at 6 am just in case we needed to be there extra early... It was def not necessary it only took about 40 min to check in and go through customs. No one asked to see his documents other then his Mexican passport and boarding pass. He was nervous it was first time on a plane. We stayed in Loreto Baja mexico for 5 days.

We drove back to US with my parents (they live in Loreto mexico) it was a 18 hour drive back so we split it in 2 days so my husband could view mexico. When we got to the Tijuana san ysidro border we didn't know if it would be better to walk through the border so my parents car wouldn't have to go to 2nd inspection or to just drive through. Well we decided to drive through and I highly recommend it. We got to border agent and he was really nice... We handed him all 3 of our US passports and my husbands Mexican passport with the AP document in it. He read it then filled out an orange paper and told us to go to 2nd inspection which we were expecting. Once in 2nd inspection another agent came to our car, read the orange paper and asked me & my husband to follow him inside, he was nice making conversation. Once inside there was only 1 other person sitting there. We sat and waited for about 30 min... The officers were laughing and chatting loud where we can all see/hear them. It was a relief hearing them all laugh in good moods. They called my husbands name and took but both hands fingerprints & his picture. They stamped his ap documents And kept one and handed one back. Attached to the ap document was the filled out i-94 with a stamp that said patrolled until sept 2015. And we were good to go, no questions asked, no proof needed of where we went, nothing! My husband was so happy haha. We went back to the car, had to wait for an officer to clear our vehicle and we left. If we walked across I'm sure there would of been more people waiting so the process would of been longer. There are 2 2nd inspections.. One for drivers and one for walkers. We now have everything to adjust status

Correct, u shouldn't have a problem.
1) I used a letter from the hospital stating my grandfather's health condition. they were able to email it to me, I printed it and then got it translated. Just make sure u get a certification of translation on it.

also make sure u sent in ur birth certificate that shows how u r related to her. some birth certificates will list ur grandfather's names. some might not. if it doesn't then u will have to send in your birth certificate and your mom's or dad's birth certificate to show the relatives relationship.

a cover letter explaining everything u r sending in and the reason of requesting advanced paroled will be helpful as well.

2) after u get back to the US u can file as soon as u can. I recommend concurrent filing, rather than the 2 step process. Permanent status depends on ur relative's status, US citizen can be as soon as 6 months, permanent resident can take much longer. I recommend u visit www.uscis.gov and read about Green Card through family. U will find all the info about adjusting status, you can even file on your own. all forms have instruction on them. Of course having a lawyer will save u the time filling out the forms.

Blessing to u & ur family and hope u can get approved soon!!
