Hi guys...

Got my card for renewal on the mail today....basically 1 week after I got approved. Any idea what to do with my old card?? It doesn't expire until 9/26.

Also, my renewal started 8/18 and it expires 8/17/16, which means there was a month overlap. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I was approved, but it kinda sux that I lost more than a month on my new one

I would say keep it, should CIR not pass during Obama term and the next president (maybe Hillary) decides to keep the program going, USCIS for some odd reason may request a copy of your original EAD card for renewal, better safe than sorry.

Actually just realized that you would be renewing under that last few months of Obama's term. Point about keeping it remains the same.

keep it, I dont think there are any instructions regarding what we should do with it, if its expired, is the same as any other goverment ID, I dont think USCIS will ask for it again as its expired already, they will ask for the current one,the only that you should really keep is that approval notice as that itself proves you were approved.

they usually ask you to discard expired documents and or surrender them.

I did it myself. The process was pretty straight forward if you didn't have any criminal record.

2 months, I think. Definitely less than 3, but there was more than a month overlap between my old one and my new one so my new EAD expires sooner
