Hey guys Ive been waiting for my SSN for about 2 weeks now, i know well within the time frame, but I needed it ASAP in order to reserve an apartment and apply for a job. Both could be potentially time sensitive.
Could I call the SS office HQ? Or even my local SSA office to get my #?

As mentioned above, You could try going to a local office and asking for a "print out" of your number. It's basically a receipt of the assigned number. Just so you can start using it for use immediately. It probably won't help your job because they need the actual social to fill out the I-9.

Good luck

Thanks guys I visited my local branch and they said as of August they no longer print out your SSN.
Also, to check back with them Monday if it doesn't come in by then.

They actually don't. For I-9 you need to provide a group A document or a group B and a group C document. EAD is a group A document. Legally speaking they are supposed to take your word for what your social is.
