renewal rfe

So my brother got hit with an rfe , lawyer said mail arrived in the mail yesterday stating that it was asking if my brother had worked with a different name before , doesnt make sence since its for renewal i figured thats something you would ask the 1st time around , he has no criminal background , what are your guys thoughts ?

approval august 28th 2013
waited almost 11 months "only god knows when"

Hmmmmm well he needs to first go to lawyers office and go see/read the letter. That's the First time I've ever heard of a RFE asking about that.

well it's been close to 2 years. Chances are the person who approved him the first time overlooked some stuff and this new person checking the case found something odd.

If I was him, I would go to his lawyers office and demand a copy of the original application they filed for him. Sounds to me like the lawyer might have something to do with this.

Did he have an SSN before? or did he work with another SSN? It might have come up on the background check this time and was missed last time.
