I'm graduating this May from university..
I've been in America for past 8years.. haven't gone back to my country.
But I really miss my hometown and want to eventually live there.
I know I can't come back to America for 10 years (which is scary and sad), but I heard that I could actually petition or waive against that 10-year bar..(does anyone know about this??)
my sister is back in my country and my parents are planning to go back to the country after I graduate since they don't qualify for any of the new order by Obama. I'm planning to go back to my country this upcoming May...

Is anyone on same foot as I am? Some people think that I'm crazy for going back but I really miss my hometown and I want to work there and stuff..
but just thinking about getting on the plane and thinking that I can't come back to America for a long time scares me..

Oh yeah forgot to mention,
yes, I do qualify for DACA and I do have DACA right now..
but I just want to live and work back my country.
Only thing I'm worried about is that once I get a job in my country, they might ask me to go to US for business trip and I can't really do that...

I think being with your family is important and if you parents are leaving, being here alone would 've awful. But at the same thing going back after 8 years won't be the same as 8 years ago. You have more opportunities here to adjust your status than doing it from back home. If are EWI you can use AP to fix that, which would make adjusting status from marriage easier. A degree from the USA tops most degrees you can get in the world and are always preferred, but going back home with just a degree night not be the smarterst thing. So why not stay here a bit getting some work experience? You could work here and send money back home & save some up. Once you decide to finally go back home, at least you would will be coming back with something.

I'm moving to Mexico next year. I'm from Peru, but met my gf in college she was an exchange student. I currently work at a Big4 and will probably look to continue doing the same thing over there.

I have DACA but paying for school out of pocket is really hard. You add bills and gas money into the mix and I'm only able to have three classes per semester.
I have the option to go back to Mexico and having my education paid for me by my grandfather. I would live in a middle class neighborhood with an uncle of mine who is a college professor. The only thing that keeps me here is my mother. She is terrified of me going back because of how dangerous it is.

Grass always seems greener on the other side. Just be careful, you can't hop on the plane and come back if you don't like it.

Nope. I was actually old enough to remember that my country of origin sucks when I came here.

I actually kinda hope Putin invades it eventually so I can claim refugee status from it...
