guys,
I received my work authorization card about 3 weeks ago but I still haven't received the I-797 notice of action paper for it..
I got I-797 for the deferred action though...

did anyone face same problem.....?T.T
Is it lost in the mail or something?

and ANOTHER QUESTION,
my employer told me to bring employment authorization document that conatins photograph (Form I-766)tomorrow, does that mean I just need to bring the work authorization card?? Do I need to bring I-797 Notice of action too..??

Employers want the card, not the letter. I think that they aren't sending the approval letters because we are renewing our current EADs instead of applying for new ones.

I didn't get the letter either. Unless you need the approval letter for something like getting your license then I wouldn't worry about it.

I-766 is the Employment Authorization Card. The little piece of blue polycarbonate plastic containing your photo, A-number, date of birth, issue date, expiration date, card number, and category code. It is a category A document, so all enough to get hired or remain hired if you require re-verification.

The notice of action and the notice of approval for the EAC are generally useless. The deferred action ones are useful in cases where you need to prove to have been granted deferred action (as in some states) to for example, get a driver's license.

You are supposed to get an approval notice for each, but as I already said, the one for the EAC serves no useful purpose.

BUMP.

So I received my EAC today and was getting all my forms of ID ready so I can head over to DMV to get my state ID renewed. I quickly realized I did not receive the I-797 aka "Notice of Action" along with the EAC which I need to reach the "6 points of ID' you need in New Jersey.

You dont need that. Just take your current ID, new EAC, Social security card, and debit card
