Now I'm worried o set to expire March 20th , haven't heard anything after biometrics. My lawyer when I first applied said you don't need to summit pictures they will take your photo during biometrics so I assumed the renewal process was the same

They may send an RFE because you didn't submit photos. Then again there are people who were approved without having sent photos. It depends if the picture they took at biometrics is acceptable for EAD

They won't. The passport photo requirement is a dead regulation, been there since the 90s and no one bothered to take it out. The entire I-765 instruction set is a graveyard that occasionally has something new added to it.

These days they use the photos from biometrics, regardless of if you submitted a photo anyways.

The first time I sent them because I followed the instructions. However, since a bunch of people were approved without them I didn't sent them for the renewal. I was approved with no problem.

Initial DACA, I sent passport photos. Renewal, I didn't. Both times approved with no issues.

My new EAD card got lost in the mail last fall and when I applied for a replacement, I didn't send in passport photos. They mailed me an RFE letter requesting photos.
