Hello everyone,

So was anyone able to get a CDL and possibly a job as a driver in any states?
Haven't found many answers just a thread or two that are mostly horror stories of people in Texas not getting licensed or getting their licenses revoked due to being from Mexico[?]

I'm about to start learning for and apply for CDL and would hate to go through all that just to find out I cant do it in the end.

Also if anyone was able to get CDL and then applied for a job how did they accept the EAD right away and did they want any more documents? [I guess this applies to any other big companies not just trucking companies.]

Thanks.

Look at the requirements at your state's department of motor vehicles website.

I have done that but the req. on my and few other states I checked are very vague,
as far as I know I pass all the reqs.
also they never mention DACA or even green card reqs.

I was more interested in other peoples' experiences with this, if anyone has any

What state are you from? I was able to get mine in California. Check your state's requirements for proof of legal presence.

In California you get one just like the rest of the residents. If you really want it, make the move, I've had mine successfully for about a year now. No need to get a "non-resident" or a temporary one. Results may vary but I've had mine since January last year.
