Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone had this problem. I am going back to work for a company that I was previously at and left in 2012. Obviously now my work authorization info would be different than what I used when I worked there. I was look at the I-9 form and there is a section for re-verification or rehire and I don't want to be considered a rehire because obviously the info on file then is not the same info now. What do I do? Did anyone experience this?

Maybe I'm not understanding the question but your I-9 would need to be verified if you're new or re-verified if it expired. I think you should be able to request to complete your i-9 again if you feel the information has changed. Usually HR doesn't care as long as you're able to provide the necessary documentation.

did you use an EAD when you were employed last time as well?

Okay thanks. That's what I think I'll do is tell them my information has changed. Does the i-9 get sent the company of the government. I am just nervous because I used to work for the company before with the same social and now I am reapplying with the same social with obviously work authorization.

well I know that most companies use E-Verify to ensure that you're allowed to work in the US. I'm not sure if they send the info directly to the government, and even if they did, what the government would do with it. for my part, I had to take a leave of absence from my job 2 years ago for 3 months b/c my EAD renewal got denied and had to reapply under DACA. once I got my EAD through DACA I just gave the new card to re-verify my I-9 and nothing else happened.
