I'm sorry I'm unable to post a link but this was send through an email from the government. Before anything, I want to stop all the haters and whiners that will post how unfair this is and how much deserving they are compared to some derivative adjective to describe a Nepali National. I understand freedom of speech but really, you're just providing a glimpse of your lack of moral character by sounding like an illegal nativist. Don't brag your ignorance is all I'm saying. Unless you're a troll, they it can be help I guess.

More important, I wonder how this could be affected by the lawsuit brought by Texas. If they "prove" to be on the right, does it mean they can block any form of relief because the government didn't ask for their opinion? Furthermore, can they block it based on the harm it may cause them no matter how insignificant it is?

Just asking.

Immigration Relief Measures for Nepali Nationals
05/05/2015

USCIS has several immigration relief measures that may be available to Nepali nationals who are affected by the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Nepal on April 25, 2015.

Measures that may be available to eligible Nepali nationals upon request include:

Change or extension of nonimmigrant status for an individual currently in the United States, even if the request is filed after the authorized period of admission has expired;
A grant of re-parole;
Expedited processing of advance parole requests;
Expedited adjudication and approval, where possible, of requests for off-campus employment authorization for F-1 students experiencing severe economic hardship;
Expedited adjudication of employment authorization applications, where appropriate;
Consideration for waivers of fees associated with USCIS benefit applications, based on an inability to pay; and
Assistance replacing lost or damaged immigration or travel documents issued by USCIS, such as Permanent Resident Cards (green cards).

To learn how to request relief or more about how USCIS assists customers affected by unforeseen circumstances in their home country, visit uscis.gov/humanitarian/special-situations or call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283 (TDD for the hearing impaired: 1-800-767-1833).

I wonder if USCIS will give the Nepalese Temporary Protected Status.

But going back to your question, this isn't affected by any ongoing lawsuits and if a state, like Texas, were to choose to sue (which is very unlikely) they can as you say based on even very little "significant harm" ask a judge to stop this. It's ridiculous really, but if they could find a judge to agree with them, then nothing stops them

I wouldn't be surprised, and I think they should.
