Hello i was wondering if any of you have any experience with this scenario.
How long would it take for a U.S citizen to sponsor a sibling currently residing in the us through a lawful entry but overstay visa?

It depends, where are you from? For Mexicans it takes about 18 years of waiting

Check the visa bulletin to see what year they are processing now for your country. Sibling petition has the longest wait time. Only advise for a visa overstayer who wants to be legal is to marry a citizen!

12+ years.

Without 245(i) they'll never get a green card however. USCIS will happily take your money, will even remind you when its almost time to file for immigrant visa/ adjustment. Then they'll deny the adjustment of status application due to illegal presence.

Well, I was filed for in December of 2005. It's been over 9 years and I still have another 4 years to go...give or take.

I was excluded from entering the country. Technically, I have never been on US soil as I was caught at the border (airport) and therefore not EWI. They don't have that anymore so I'm grandfathered or something.
