I am a first time applicant. I have received my receipts and went to get my biometrics done a week ago. When i check my case status online it says that my receipt number is not valid.. is this normal, or should i seek professional help?
Myrna, this is a typical situation that you described. USCIS doesn't readily update cases online, you'll have to wait until they do which is done sometimes after doing biometrics. Check from time to time to see if they haven't already posted. If your case still doesn't show up, you can call the USCIS national number and check the status there
