Hello world,

Does anyone know of a private loan that a daca holder can apply to?

I hope everyone is doing well!

Thank you so much for all the help.

If you are able to get a USC to co-sign, I know Discover provides loans to DACA beneficieries.

Here are the things you required for both Sallie Mae and Discover

a. Green Card or US. Citizen Co-signer (This is a must)
b. Social Security Number
c. Passport
d. Employment Authorization Card
e. Proof of Address (Driver License or a reliable mail that proofs you live in the address stated in the loan application)
f. School Certification (Call your school's financial department, and tell them you are applying for a private loan. Then, ask them about your "status of loan certification")

Things are pretty self explanatory. However, it does take some time (maybe 2-4 weeks). I am still on the process of getting approved, but things look very promising (almost 90% done). Hopefully next week, I'll finally be 100% approved.

By the way, I only applied to both loans just to make sure 1 will get approved. However, I will most likely cancel "Sallie Mae"
because of the loan amount borrowed.

Good to hear! Are you eligible for in-state tuition?

While I do have a job that provides more than enough for my tuition, I do sometimes feel it may be best to go out and get a loan. Now if only I could get a USC to sign
