Meh, the pope could excommunicate the likes of Abbott and they still wouldn't budge. They're "good christians" when situation requires it, outside of that they're evil assholes.

This type of religious nut is convinced that they are right and nothing will help them change their mind. It's like that Kim Davis person in Kentucky. The man has a Hispanic wife and he still did it. He can look her in the eyes every day and not feel a thing about the people he's hurting so the Pope is nothing. Still, it would be nice if the Pope directly contacted him.

Yeah I hear some of the call conservative radio shows and say "I'm Latino and *I* did it the right way so should they!" They leave out the part where they got amnesty in 1986 or married that one woman for the green card though.
