First of all, I'd like to thank you for having the time to read my post. I have followed this forum for the past few years and it has been a great source of information for me. Now with that being said, I'd like to ask for some advice about the risks of requesting advance parole as a DACA beneficiary.

Background:
I'm a undocumented immigrant from Mexico, and I have nothing but great things to say about the great state of Texas. Texas has welcomed me with arms wide open as I pursued a bachelor degree in electrical engineering. Not only did this state pave the road for me to reach my educational goals through scholarships; but it also allowed me to have financial stability through a series of job opportunities in the aerospace and oil industries after my DACA was granted. As an engineer, I often get asked if I can travel to different nations and help fix stuff. I always find a way to avoid traveling to other nations; however, this time I can't do that. I need to travel to Canada in about a month or two and I'm very concerned about this.

Here's a few questions that I have:

1) How risky is it to travel outside of the USA with advance parole due to employment purposes?

2) Are there any DACA beneficiaries that been granted advance parole but were not allowed reentry in the USA after traveling?

3) Are there any documents that I need to enter Canada?

4) What is the maximum amount of time for which advance parole can be granted? I plan on asking for a year with multiple reentries.

5) Is it feasible to obtain advance parole in less than two months? If so, what is the average wait period?

6) Is advance parole something I can do myself, or would it be a wise decision to reach an attorney's help?

7) Do you have any other kind of advice for me?

Thanks for your valuable time,

TheEngineer

1) How risky is it to travel outside of the USA with advance parole due to employment purposes?
I have read a few posts of people who have traveled for work purposes and have a done it more than once.

2) Are there any DACA beneficiaries that been granted advance parole but were not allowed reentry in the USA after traveling?
I haven't read of anyone .

3) Are there any documents that I need to enter Canada? If you search on the the lounge forum I believe someone just did it and got a Canadian Visa on their passport to go with AP.

4) What is the maximum amount of time for which advance parole can be granted? I plan on asking for a year with multiple reentries. I am not sure what is the maximun but also, if you research here some people have gotten multiple entries.

5) Is it feasible to obtain advance parole in less than two months? If so, what is the average wait period? The average seems to be a month, I just got notification my document was mailed today and They received my application on Sept. 1.

6) Is advance parole something I can do myself, or would it be a wise decision to reach an attorney's help? Completely up to you, I went and did it at Coalition but I could have done it myself honestly.

7) Do you have any other kind of advice for me? PATIENCE lol!

Thanks for your valuable time,

Thanks for your response. I have decided to go see an immigration attorney after all, and I will be sending the documents soon as soon as I obtain a letter from HR. I hope the wait period is no longer than a month or two.

I think this place has been dead for like a week. Barely any activity. Sorry about that

Hey just moved to Texas a few months back and am working in an oil and gas related job. I already have a BS in Biology but been considering going back to school for engineering. With oil being as low as it is, would you recommend goin into a petroleum engineering program? Or a different type of engineering?

Do mechanical. It's very broad. You can still do other things if gas industry takes a dump

THe Engineer. what is your update? i successfully got a six month multiple entry AP for work to travel to Canada. Went to VAC for Canada and got a multiple entry visa. Both processes took approx 30 days. THis was my second AP. my first was a single entry AP which i got in two weeks. My reentry was a breeze and only took about 20 min. Everythign was done myself. good luck.
