Hello Everyone,

I would like to know if it is possible for a DACA beneficiary with EAD to Work for the STATE Government.

Is anyone Currently or Has worked for their STATE Government? For what State and in what type of position?

- I know that it depends on the STATE, that Is why I want to know what STATE(s) do hire.
(please no bad comments)

Thank You.

I work for State of Connecticut as an Analyst at a very very good agency. I consider myself very lucky as I assume these jobs are extremely competitive. I'm pretty sure most if not all states hire anyone eligible for employment. I was worried in the beginning as well when I got a job offer but it was an absolute breeze. I highly recommend you pursue a state job! The benefits are unmatched. Good luck!

And I'd certainly give some credit to FL Dreamer for giving me advice and willing to give return advice to you or anyone here. What type of job are you looking for OP? In what field? The application process is very smooth at the state and very straight forward. I would imagine you would have to meet with the directors or leaders of the agency that you would apply to. Each state posts their open positions at their DAS (Dept of Administrative Services) website or the equivalent. You can just type "XXX state jobs" on google and you'll get the link immediately. If you meet the initial requirements based on your resume and application, they will certainly call you but it may take a month or two depending on what type of position it is. Once you're in, I can tell you you will have a good time with the work as you will have adequate training and flexibility and time. Feel free to ask any questions here so maybe others can learn some more as well! Good luck.

I am applying for colleges right now and kind of hoping i can fix my status by the time i am done, since I am planning to go into Aerospace and someone I know offered to help me get an internship at NASA. But apparently that would be a no go since I cant obtain clearance. Good luck with your search, and I say go for it and most of the time you should have no problem unless they need some type of clearance or you work for Federal Government.
