Quote:
The Department of Homeland Security has begun preparing for a series of raids that would target for deportation hundreds of families who have flocked to the United States since the start of last year, according to people familiar with the operation.

The nationwide campaign, to be carried out by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents as soon as early January, would be the first large-scale effort to deport families who have fled violence in Central America, those familiar with the plan said. More than 100,000 families with both adults and children have made the journey across the southwest border since last year, though this migration has largely been overshadowed by a related surge of unaccompanied minors.

The ICE operation would target only adults and children who have already been ordered removed from the United States by an immigration judge, according to officials familiar with the undertaking, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because planning is ongoing and the operation has not been given final approval by DHS. The adults and children would be detained wherever they can be found and immediately deported. The number targeted is expected to be in the hundreds and possibly greater.

...
Considering that these people were fleeing from violence and seeking asylum, this has to be the most messed up thing.

On another note, should us DACA recipients or those who came before 2014 be worried? I feel like one day I'll see a similar article saying "U.S. plans raids to deport DACA recipients" ...

Honestly, in the long run it will be better for them than to be in limbo for ever. They came and tried to piggy back on the long work of others, it didn't work out, no harm.

How? They already have all the information they need from every DACA recipient ... did you fill out the application yourself?

No you're right here. For some reason, some people people here believe DACA is untouchable, nothing can ever happen to it. It's here to stay. These people don't understand that DACA is nothing more than an action to NOT deport their asses from here for a period of 2 years. Aka - deferred action. All the next president has to do is sign an executive order to get rid of it and am no amount of " but but no one will touch it!!!" Will prevent them from doing so. We lose our status and then what ? We go back to being how were before DACA. Worst if changes happen uscis can share their Intel to ICE and then what ?

" but but DACA is untouchable nothing can take it away!!! They would be stupid to get rid of it all if they time and money wasted !!! No you're dumb!!!"

People who say this are the same who believe our government here can and had made the best decisions always. They never do questionable actions. Even DACA some people who don't like illegal aliens believe it to a mistake of a government they trusted. What make people think the government won't get rid of DACA as well ?

DACA is not untouchable but it was blamed for the masses coming here last year. The only way DACA can be saved and new reform can be passed is enforcement is shown to be working.

Only congress can do anything about it. And with our current republican controlled congress, an immigration reform in years from now

You are very very dumb. DACA is not a law. The same information you provided to get benefits can be used against you to deport your ass out of the country. Even worse the information you provided can be used to track your other relatives who might be here illegally. You better be praying that the next president is not a confederate Christian tea party republican because we are out.
