I have an 81 year old grandpa who has Alzheimer, and I have not seen him for 12 years. First of all, do you think it is likely for me to get advance parole approved with this reason? And if approved, what would be the maximum amount of time I could stay out of the US with this kind of humanitarian reason? I have not been to Korea for 12 yearsand I really want to spend as much time as I can there.

Thank you in advance for your response!

I applied for humanitarian AP for similar reason as you. They should grant it to you. Mine is valid for a little more than two months.

I would not spend more than a month there. Don't risk it. Don't defy DACA.

If your reason is that you'll be going there to take care of him. You could ask up to the maximum amount of 1 year. If you need to come back and forth, you can also ask for a multiple entry advance parole

Did you ASK FOR 2 months? Or did you ask for fewer days but they gave you more? I'm wondering how many days I should put.

Ask for a year. With multiple entries. Explain in letter how you need to take care of your gpa. Tell doctor to wirte a letter stating conditio and that he needs a caretaker.
