Renew? or Redo after DACA expiration...

Soo...
My initial EAD/DACA expired December of 2014.
During 2014, I kept in mind that I need to prepare to renew it and etc.

Also, during 2014 I got REALLY/SERIOUSLY ill. It took me the rest of that year to recover and DACA was the last thing on my mind.

So I'm now recovered and my DACA's been expired for almost 2 years.
I was really hoping I could still just apply for a renewal, but I keep reading that I need to reapply for DACA as an initial request.

Does any one know if I have a chance of just apply for a renewal? or do I just have to reapply for an initial request?
