Has anyone applied for AP through a field office and permission to travel was granted?
My grandmother is extremely sick and I decided to request emergency AP for humanitarian reasons through a field office. I brought the application, the filling fee, supporting documents including her medical report and my request was granted. However, the document and the stamp provided is different from the AP documentation I've been seeing from people who got AP approved via mail. They gave me an arrival record card similar to a I-94 with an admission number and the stamp on the back says "serves as temporary I-551 evidencing permanency residency for one year". According to the Officer, I should present this document along with my DACA approval letter I-797 notice of action on my way back.
It seems that this is the authorization to travel that people with a pending green card application receives when apply for AP.
I explained once again to the officer that I dont have a pending permanent resident application and that I have DACA, and he confirm this is the procedure through a field office and there was nothing to worry about.
Can someone here share a similar experience? I want to make sure I'll be ok when presenting this to the immigration officer at the airport on my way back.
