Good morning everyone,

I was wondering if people from the Chicago area could use this thread to update others on your timing for receiving the biometrics notice/appointment.

I have been waiting for 74 days and have not received a notice. I have done everything as far as sending e-requests, and they just keep being ignored. My ELIS account never came and when I asked for one, it never worked.

They told to talk to the ELIS service desk but that was too useless. I filed right around the end of May, 2016. I want to see if my delay could be because of the area.

Please leave any feedback you may have. I am growing desperate here. My permit expires at the end of September.

Is there anyone with a similar timeline?

Thank you

Chicago here, and I'm on Day 64 with no bios notice. My attorney sent an inquiry earlier this month, and the rep recommended setting up an ELIS account. The code they sent though appears to be for a legal representative rather than a customer. I'm following up to get a new code.

Strangely, my attorney received a response stating that my application was filed between 2/14/16 and 5/14/16, which is the time frame they've identified as being particularly delayed and that I would receive an answer within a few weeks. That is wrong because my receipt date is 6/13. It looks like a canned response, but they also prefaced it with "Our records indicate..."
I'm not sure what records they are looking at, but those records are wrong.

My brother and I have received the same canned response. With something saying that we will get approved in the next few weeks. My receipt date is also outside that window.

Please let me know if you get a response. I just hope that doing biometrics late does not mean that it will take up to 3 months more. Hopefully more people respond.

Interesting. Did your email response actually include the word "approved"? Mine states "You should receive a decision on your case within the next few weeks."

I'm hopefully there's a relatively quick turnaround after bios. TardixTX, who also had a long bios delay was approved within a week after finally receiving bios. That's the best we can hope for, I suppose.

Well, according to Latinbaby83, we are screwed.

This is what I received from the ELIS account email. Thank you for your inquiry regarding your request to renew your period of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and your Employment Authorization Document.

Our records indicate that you submitted your request for renewal between February 14 and May 14, 2016. Requests submitted during this timeframe may have taken longer than expected. You should receive a decision on your case within the next few weeks. USCIS is dedicated to restoring normal processing times as quickly as possible.

They received my on the last week of May.

I do not know what is going on.

Did you follow up to correct the misinformation? Our receipt dates are clearly not in that window. They shouldn't be using timeframe as a way to further delay our application.

Also, latinbaby's timeline does make sense seeing as the receipt date is 5/12, within that "delayed timeframe."
