Trying to help a friend apply for Daca, "in school requirements"

I'm trying to help a friend apply for Daca, who was denied before because uscis did not recognize his high school diploma as being from an accredited US school. To make a long story short, he went to a uscis infopass and the person told him he could reapply all over again with a new application and paying the fees again after he is register and enrolled in a accredited GED program or College.

My question is does anyone know if this is true about getting approved for Daca by registering to meet the "currently in school" requirements.

Also at first I thought you couldn't reapply for daca at all once denied, but my friend was told by a uscis agent that you can reapply by doing a whole new application and paying the fees. Has anyone ever heard of a situation like this.

Currently in school means that you're either enrolled in a school or a GED program, so he can enroll in some GED prep and refile.
