Hey guys!

Has anyone ever been denied AP? They denied me on Oct. 11, I applied to travel to Mexico to visit my wife's grandmother who has diabetes. They first requested additional information because they said that the illness that she had was not an "emergent" condition.

So I got another letter from her doctor showing her age and also additional illnesses, I also got a letter from my Church and a Missions Trip that they were going to do to help Kids in Mexico, and stated in an additional letter that I was planning on doing both in two weeks. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough and I got denied.
On the Denial letter that I received it said that she didn't have an "emergent" condition and that the trip didn't qualify as one that was for "public benefit" therefore they had to deny me.

I was wondering if anyone has tried re applying (for another reason) even after getting denied?

You would think visiting a relative with cancer would be good enough. Sorry you got denied.

I have a feeling you should have stuck steadfast on providing additional evidence with regards to the illness of your wife's grandmother (Sorry about that by the way) rather than diverting and providing evidence about you will be doing for two weeks there. Just throwing out some possible reasons, not saying this is why they denied you. Sorry to hear that and good luck next time!

What will be your reasons for applying? Why did you get denied?

I could see uscis denying it. You have no immediate relationship to your wifes grandmother. your chances of AP for an immediate relative are higher. Sorry to hear that. No you cannot appeal, its up to uscis discretion to give you AP or not

I am applying for AP and reading these comments just scared me. I plan on sending out my application at the end of the week. The reason is based on humanitarian purposes; my grandmother had breast cancer. She is going through a relapse now.

What kind of illness did your grandmother have?
