Does Trump really have a power to rescind DACA and future plans?

Republicans keep the house, conservatives really know how to put up consistency. I don't recall a closer election than this one.

Let's be realistic here, it's super close and obviously the U.S picks and chooses. Honestly, my thoughts is that I can see why voters have a less liking to Hillary, while Trump was on the news basically 24/7.

The country needs someone who has a backbone and it's possible that Trump showed that to a lot of voters. It's also possible that people saw Clinton as someone who was just unlikable just like before compared to Obama.

In my opinion, DACA can take into a new path, for example: signing into the military, higher fees, or worst of all just a mass/ordered emigration. It's a scary thought, but people always say that the president really has no power. If the dems get to keep the other lot, but have Trump winning.

What do you think will happen in the next 6 months?

Update: I really think Democrats have just slipped, but I think it's also just a normal cycle in this kind of political atmosphere. Republics know how to really give a fight and the Dems just grew fat. I think Trump has this, the polls are showing a very straight forward result. I just hope he's sane enough to at least do something for DACA and not just kill it with a knife.

In the next 6 months, I see him ending DACA very quickly...or at least allowing his cronies to do it for him...and if he doesn't end it by then, there may be signs that he is going to.

DACA is not an executive order...it's basically just a DHS memo, and Obama let them go forward with it.

All Trump has to do is a make a call and say end it, and then life goes on for them.

His deportation force may also be more likely than we would all like to think...it won't be as dramatic as you may think...but probably a stealthy government program that will work behind the scenes putting as many undocumented people as they can round up in removal proceedings.

I just don't see why you would want to end DACA unless you have a better plan in place. For fucks sakes we have started to get our lives together, we have car loans, house loans, student loans, credit cards. I dont see how ending DACA would be good for anyone.

LOL do you think they care?! We're fucked guys and I just can't stop stressing about it. We had another 4-6 years to fix our shit if Clinton had won. Now we are pretty much screwed. I'm totally in shock and hopeless.

At the same time, I'm just trying to see the perspective from the other side. My friend wants a safe and secure country, and I think I know why the majority of Americans say that they're really tired of the same story.

Coming back to what VeryNicePerson1 said, mass deportation would be a very interesting and scary event.

I think I should have focused in finding someone to marry rather than studying and looking for a better job lol

Honestly your right...but I can't look past the opportunity the repubes may want to jump on to make an example out of all of us just because they can.

I mean think about it, we are a small bunch of beneficiaries, for all we know the repubes may be thinking "Who cares about them, they are only a very small number of people".

Then there is the ominous scenario, that even if he leaves DACA alone, we are in a super divided country, quite possibly with no CIR ever happening in our lifetimes.

Use DACA to help give you an opportunity to adjust ASAP, that is the best advice I can give at the moment.

I'm pretty sure a senate body-republican is watching these threads, I just have this weird ominous feeling.

Trump's pick for DHS secretary would likely rescind the original DACA. A president Trump is likely to also restart immigration raids internally by redirecting funds toward fugitive operations. I see a repeat of Bush's immigration enforcement on the internal, but also at the workplace and definitely a significant presence at the border. In addition, I think the most significant difference would be the streamlining of DHS policy for removals.

...It is coming!

I wonder if we'll be able to keep our permits until they expire or if they will cancel them immediately. I have a good job barely growing in my career and it's about to be taken from me. I just can't deal with the depression right now.

damn this is scary. I hope trump has change of heart. I was hoping for CIR but at this point I'll be happy if I get to keep just DACA.
