The results of last night's election was not in our favor to say the least. DACA may or may not be around in three months. If there is a strong deportation force DACA receipts may be at the end of the line because we are in the system and have background checks etc. It is a lot of uncertainty and I know that makes many of us feel hopeless, fearful, angry and sad. However, that does not mean we quit.

Know that the feelings can be overcome and that our lives are not over. There is no guarantee that we will find happiness or success in our lifetimes; but giving in to the abyss secures a lifetime of untapped potential. With that being said as we get more information everyone needs to position themselves accordingly to make the best of what we get. Focus on the things you can control, we cannot control what the laws will be in a year but we can control how we face respond and how prepared we are. Proactive not reactive. I know it's not easy and that's why many of us stayed up all night; because we know what's at stake and we considered worst case scenarios.

This includes me. My worst case scenario is moving back to my birth country of Mexico. Anyone have any insight how the country is doing as whole? I'm an engineer with four years of experience in the Automotive and Pharmaceutical industries. How valuable is a bilingual engineer over there? If things go south next year I may just go back full time to get my MBA before moving back. Another possibility is starting an online MBA program so I should be able to continue when I move back (I'd have to look this up). Maybe I try my luck as starting my own business in the US or in Mexico.

It's not going to be easy. And some of us have truly horrible situations with loved ones; but we cannot give up. If anyone feels like they need someone to talk to send me a PM. I have not been particularly active of this forum, but I will try to be more active these coming months.

I left to Mexico 5 years ago after graduating High School. I got a visa to visit the USA about 3 years ago. You should be able to find a job in Guadalajara, Monterrey, or Mexico City easily.

Edit: Being bilingual is always a plus.

All I hear is people getting killed, kidnapped, or what not. Even the educated people live in poverty. Mexico would be your worse case scenario.

Have you ever been to Mexico? Have you even traveled outside of the USA? This is why it's so hard for people trying to immigrate legally to the United States to support you. You sound like a whiny bitch.

Question is, have you? To say that his statement has no foundation is ignorant, but to call it the absolute truth would be naive

Where can we look for information on jobs in Mexico? It hurts alot to say I dont want to stay here. They dont want us here. Probably going back to my country is my best shot. No more racism. No more scared of getting family deported and now me getting deported.

It would be great to know how to search for jobs over there. i want to find myself a nice beach city over there and hunker down. I've always been really interested in a minimalist life, so I guess this is how i start.

I would try to search for companies in your field and check their websites for the "careers" section. Linkedin and cold emails might work as well.
