Hello guys,

My advance parole application was just approved.(Or at least I think). I went to the USCIS website to check the status and my status changed from received to "Document was mailed to me".

From what i have read that means it was approved.

So I will be traveling to the Dominican Republic. I have a few questions for those of you who have traveled with advance parole. Specially looking to hear from anyone who has gone to the Dominican Republic. Hate to admit it but even though all i hear is good stories, I am freaking out about the possibility of not being able to enter the US when I return.

1st question - This document they are sending me. Is this the advance parole or an approval letter?

2nd question - What can I expect when I come back? In the Dominican Republic will they ask me any questions? Will they hassle me about not having papers? Will they let me on the plane?

Any tips that can help me when I am coming back will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

That's great. Congrats on getting approved for advance parole.

Please share your timeline for those of us still anxiously awaiting advance parole approval?

You will receive the approval letter first, in about a week. Then the actual AP documents (2 copies)

In your home country you will wait 15-20 minutes at the airport check-in counter while they verify your AP document. They will most likely make a copy. Do not let them take any of the originals away from you, you will need both at the US port of entry.

My application was received Sept 6 and it was approved 11/29

I hope i get the documents soon. I requested to spend 21 days in my country. from Dec 1 to the 21st.

That is going to be cut really short if i get the document 2 weeks from now

So in Dominican Republic, I should give myself plenty of time to give them time to process my document.

The approval letter you get first states your travel dates, they might have given you more. Don't worry too much about it until you receive it.

Have you received the approval letter o docs? When I called the officer notified me my case was approved 11/28 (case status never updated this) and my case status now says my document was mailed 12/7. I'm so anxious to receive anything really.
