Pre-Dated Employment Authorization

Hey guys,

Hope all is well! Fortunately for me, I just got my I-765 Approved. Currently, this is what it says.

"Card Is Being Produced

We have approved your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization , Receipt Number XXXXX. On January 2, 2017, we ordered your card to be produced. We will mail your card to the address you gave us. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address."

My concern is that I will receive a card that will expire earlier than the 2 year marking. I expire April 2017. It would be unfortunate to start 4 months earlier, but I will still be grateful nonetheless.

Any ideas on how I will be able to know if I will have a pre-dated or backdated EAD? Would I just have to wait and see?

At this point, we should just be grateful whatever we get.

Don't worry when I checked mine it said the same thing and a couple of days later it changed and it said that it had been approved on April 2017 the new one i got starts a day before my last one ends.

Because I got my approval letter and it's dated 12/28/2019, I don't expire until march so if the EAD is dated 03/28/17, I was wondering how that will work since everyone is saying their EAD start the day before their current one expires

Did you receive your EAD already. If so, what are the dates.

Also, when your status was on Card Produced, when did the date change from On January to "On March......"

I haven't received it yet, I was just going off of what everyone on this forum who was in the same situation was going through. and i didn't pay attention to the status changes because i thought it would be a delayed process so the only update i got was my case was approved and they are sending me the approval letter and there is no date.
