New member..............

Hello friends -

I am new to the site and at least it is somewhat of a comfort to know other people feel the same as I do. My family moved to the U.S legally in 1993 on my dad's visa from the United kingdom. I was the age of nine and it was such a great new world. I attended grade school, high school, and I have recently graduated from a college with two degrees in music. In 2004 I reached the age of 21 and aged out. It is so frustrating to have your hands tied and dreams inactive - I pray that the dream act will pass but time is always a factor. If there is anything I can do to get involved and help in anyway plz let me know. All the best friends.

You know, I love you. You hardly ever see someone ask "what can I do" right from day one. Anyway, welcome to DAP. As mentioned, keep an eye on the Taking Action forum. Stay around and get to know us, because a lot of the things we do don't appear on these public forums, and if you want to get involved you have to build trust. Call your Representatives and tell them to vote against the SAVE Act. If you have a Dream Act group at your school, join it. If you don't, start one. You can talk to many people here who are involved with groups at their schools.

Oh, wait, you're 27/28. Scratch the school thing. But there are still a bunch of other immigration advocacy groups you can try to help out. I have a list here.

I apoligize if I was a big vauge on facts about me - I am 25yrs old in Oklahoma and have two degrees in music - Vocal performance and Pedagogy. I must say it has been a blessing in which is still a curse - small town - noone knows any better. I am an aspiring actor with a passion to help people - hopefully over these days I can learn how I can do my part to help all of us. We all can make a difference.

jaja musicians here yo we can sometime sit and do a collab, well anyways i play the acoustic, and electric guitar im still learning and i sing also. Tomorrow theres this major band going to our high school to perform and if they have enough time they are going into my guitar class to talk, answer questions and stick around with us for the period.
