What is the right thing to do in the case that your Employer did not ask for you EAD for the purposes of I-9 Renewal after old permit expired?

I received my renewal on time and everything, but it has been a couple of months and they never asked for the new one.

I am debating whether to go tell them. What is the right course of action?

Technically it is not your responsibility to let them know your EAD expired...still I would tell them. What's the harm? You can legally work.

Gonna be honest, my employer hasn't asked for my renewed EAD, ever. The only EAD they have on file for me is the very first one I gave them, back in 2013. Probably helps I work in a company with 20k+ employees a famously lazy HR department haha.

There's no harm to leaving it as-is but right thing would be to go to HR and say you have an updated EAD.

When my dad expired my employer never asked me to show him the renewed one and I didn't even bother showing it to him.

You should not tell them. You are legally employed to work and if you alert them, they might ask you for it on time in the future...and we all know how late USCIS can be. Do not burn your bridges. It's HR's responsibility to ask for it, and if they don't, its on them.

They have never asked me either. Although my manager is aware of my situation, I feel safe all thanks to being a crucial asset to them, no trying to sound trumpish but thanks to me they have an online pmnt gateway.

I left a photocopy of my renewed EAD and a note on the desk of the HR person at my company. They never said anything, my renewal was late for a month also.
