about 5k, and two years. Maybe less depending on where you live. You could even take the certificate route, 6 months and you're rolling.

Is there a cheaper way because I can't afford 5k.

Look into pipe fitting - in Oregon at least the demand is alive and the program usually last 4 years but the past two years of apprenticeship is paid

Being a structural engineer I'd recommend becoming a certified welder. You can then specialize in aquatic welding or other areas. Look up American Welding Society. The profit here is becoming certified in each type of welding and being your own boss.

The construction field is very rewarding, at least it is where I'm from (NY Metro Area)

As Chessmaster said, becoming a welder is a great step, I would also suggest electrician, carpentry, or even maybe going to construction project management. I'm in the construction field for 13 years, I never went to college, but as a tradesman (and of course, EAD), I can make a very good living for me and my family.

I do have somewhat of little carpentry experience because I used help out my dad (Who is a carpenter) before I got my DACA
