Hi,

I recently got my renewed EAD and would like to get an updated State ID as the restriction passed the expiration date. Im from NYC and planning to go to DMV to get this updated so it would reflect with my EAD expiration. Does anyone know what kind of documentations do I need to bring?

As far as I know, all you have to bring with you is your renewed working permit and your past ID.
I brought my passport with me when I went to DMV last time, but they did not ask for it.
Just try to go in early to avoid long lines.

For most states it's standard To bring your current State ID and renewed EAD

Make an appointment online. You'll be able to skip the line of people who apparently use the internet just for Facebook and Snapchat. I just did this about a month ago and I had several people ask me why I was able top just skip the line. Their surprise when I told them you can make an appointment online.

Bring the DMV form filled out. You can fill it out online, print it and sign it.
Bring your renewed EAD
Your NYS ID card.

When you come into DMV you can check in at one of the terminals using the barcode emailed to you if you book the appointment online. The machine will spit out a number. Wait for your number to be called, your wait time will be less than 10 minutes.

When I did it last month my total time spent at DMV was 8 minutes. From the moment I walked in to the moment I walked out with the interim ID paper they print out for you. If you do not book the appointment online, be ready to be there for at least 2 hours.

just take your new EAD and old id.

Im not sure where in NY you are, but they have express locations in Manhattan.
