I plan on going on vacation for a couple of months within the US. Is it safe to rent a car in another state or should I just use Uber?
Also, do I need to notify USCIS of change of address for this temporary trip?

If you're moving somewhere permanently, then you need to notify USCIS. For vacations, no. Which state are you staying in? Border states have checkpoints where cbp officers check citizenship on highways and routes. If you're protected under DACA then you won't have much to worry about. Never claim U.S citizenship, be honest. Follow the laws.

Personally, I think it be best to rent a car to have the convenience and availability to travel. Uber is best in the cities and where parking is difficult

Yes it's safe. Don't get the renters car insurance. Use a credit card that offers insurance or your own insurance.

No you do not need to notify USCIS.

No. There are checkpoints within 100 miles of the border. Typically, California, Arizona, Texas, New Mexico.

Of course it's safe. Yes use a credit card with car rental insurance. I banged a rental once and Amex paid $1000 worth of damages.

Had I banged in a rental I would have caused more than $1000 worth of damages.
