NEW EAD Design

I was not aware of the new EAD design until I received mine yesterday.

It is interesting because the Green Card and EAD designs most of us have had not been in effect for a very long time.

What happened to public notice? Comment period? Anywho, looks nice

I like the old design better

They announced this a while back. I read about it 2 months before my EAD was approved. Even though I was happy to be approved, I was bummed that I wasn't getting the new ones. The Permanent Resident cards are also getting the new design.

I received my renewal EAD two days ago and I got the previous design. Good... I guess? In the end, what matters is that we can legally work as long as we have that card.

But it is a little weird that I got the previous design because USCIS site says "Above: What the newly designed Employment Authorization Document (EAD) will look like after it comes into circulation May 1, 2017".

USCIS only has a few printing centers, might've been some delay as to when the card was actually created, or they had a few of the old cards left and just used them until they ran out. The cards are made as blanks onto which info will be burned in with a laser following some kind of a template.


Still, it honestly doesn't matter, there are people in US that have Green Cards from the 1980s that have no expiration date and they are in no hurry to replace them since they don't expire and the worst that happens is CBP being annoyed that they have to type stuff in by hand.

Make the EAD design great again! Can't freakin believe this. Those losers at Breitbart must be fuming knowing Obama's "Illegal amnesties" are still running and kids are getting beautiful EADs like this one!

What an ugly monstrosity.

I love that it has the flag, eagle, and stars. I love it, although, someone must really love the color pink in the design team.
