Ok a friend of a friend is apparently bipolar has daca , he apparently didn't know he was bipolar totally lost it was homeless, to make a long story short he apparently fell into bad company arrested on burglary charges . Did anyone know there is a mental health court? So that's where his case is they want him to plead guilty to burglary and if he completes the mental health program, stay on his meds they reduce the charges to shoplifting. Will he get deported? I really feel sorry for him was a college student and everything just had a psychotic break and lost touch with reality.

If you plead guilty in court and have it reduced later, it still counts against you for immigration purposes. A guilty plea is a conviction.

Does the current lawyer know about his immigration status? I think it is very important he sees a criminal lawyer that is knowledgeable about immigration law. Hopefully a deal can be made that won't put him in danger of deportation.

But won't the mental health issue make him inadmissible to the U.S.? It's almost like he really did a number on himself .

There has to be a "Associated Harmful Behavior" to be inadmissible. See See INA 212(a)(2)(A)(iii). and an immigration lawyer.
