I'm giving the situation here until the end of the year or else I will pull the trigger and move to Canada under express entry. I was already offered to apply for permanent residence there once but the offer is about to expire. I have high hopes that the situation here in the US will sort itself out by September when the new budget for 2018 is voted in. Im hoping relief for us is exchanged for more gents and border security. But if not, i'm ready to move on. I can always come back legally in 10 years as a skilled worker. i will only be in my mid 30's. I just cannot keep missing out on my family in Mexico. I couldn't even attend any of my grandparents funerals when they died. It feels like being trapped here is just not worth it, family wise. Life passes by so fast...

If you were offered that you should take it because I honestly don't see any progress related to immigration.

I was in the same boat. Vancouver is pretty good for tech, it's not silicon valley but it's pretty good. At the end of the day I decided to stay because the valley is full of opportunities like nowhere else in the world. If you don't work or want to work with cutting edge machine learning, brain computer interfaces, robotics, self driving cars or any of the industries that are about to blow up then it makes sense to leave. I'd regret leaving and seeing a tech revolution go through here and not being able to be part of it. However, I understand where you are coming from, if you miss your family you should probably go. It's not worth it.

Also, keep in mind that Spain gives you citizenship after 2 years if you have a passport from any Ibero-American country. Spain is shit for tech but they are pouring tons of resources to fix that and I was looking into getting an entrepreneur visa, and move my side hustle there for 2 years while I wait for my citizenship. Then probably bounce to Germany or somewhere else where tech doesn't suck. You only need 30K in the bank, it's super fucking easy, I couldn't believe it. Your business needs to be in tech and you need a business plan.

Good luck with whatever you end up deciding!

FYI...my sister lived in USA for awhile. Entered on a visitor's visa and lost her status. She married a Canadian Citizen>moved to Canada>in 3 years she obtained her Canadian Citizenship and passport.

Since then she has crossed the border to USA numerous times via car/airplane.

When she left USA she opted to enter Canada via car to avoid US customs/immigration to stamp her the 10 year ban.

Guys, last time I took the IELTS test I was amazed the kind of people pursuing an entry to Canada. Doctor, PHD student, MBA recipient, IT majors, and came across some US citizens born in USA. So overall is not a bad place...you will have to deal with the cold.

There is no way for us DACA to avoid that 10 year ban. The government has all of our info. It would be easy for them to know exactly until when we were here.
