I have seen another thread discussing a similar issue but most of them were cases about misspelled names. I wanted to see if anyone has had a similar experience to mine.

So I my current EAD expires in July 2017. I filed my DACA renewal on the 14th of April, got my Biometrics appointment for the 5th of May and got it approved on the 11th of May. I then got my card in the mail the 19th of May. As soon as I received it, I checked that all the information was correct, (name, address and birthdate), only to discover a HUGE error on their part. The listed valid date is 05/11/2017 and the expiration date listed is 05/11/2017. I immediately checked my I-797 form and it states that my differed action is valid from 05/11/2017 to 05/10/2019. So basically they made an incredible huge typographical error and sent me a card that is practically useless and invalid. I immediately called customer service and made a request to get it fixed. The lady put in the request and gave me a confirmation number. (The request was made on the 19th of May.)

It has been almost 3 weeks and haven’t heard anything from USCIS or haven’t had my case status updated. So I called again the 7th of June twice, only to be told that I have to wait a period of 30 days to receive an update. I asked them if there was any way I can get this expedited, seeing as how it was an error made on their part, and they just kept saying that I needed to wait. I then asked if I needed to send back the card with the error and again was told that I needed to wait. I work at LAX and since I have to renew my airport badge by the 20th of June, I clearly do not have time to be waiting. I looked at the USCIS website and there it stated I have to send back the card with a detailed letter explaining the error, and any supporting documentation. I sent the card with the letter, in addition to my I-797 form stating that I was granted deferred action from 05/11/2017- 05/10/2019. (1 day shipping). I have yet to hear from them but really hope they send it by next week!!  If anyone has had similar cases, please share timeline!

I remember reading about this happening to other people on @ALT_uscis, so you are definitely not the only one. Hopefully they send you a correct EAD soon!

Sorry to tell you it's gonna take 1 month if you're lucky. Otherwise 3 months if unlucky.

Hopefully it gets fixed ASAP, but knowing USCIS, that doesn't seem likely. Have you thought of making an appointment in person with USCIS to see if you can get something that proves the validity of your work authorization?

Also, I wondered if you were required to get a TWIC card to work at the airport?

If you were approved for DACa you should be able to work if you explained them the error

Hey mate,

The same thing happened to me!!!

I called USCIS. They told me it was a system error and that they are working on it. They said I should receive a new card "soon".

Luckily, we are still approved so I guess that's good but I really wish we had that card right now!

It might be needed if you're looking to get into TSA.
But other other positions it's not required.
I'm an airline customer service agent, and all they asked was for my work permit.

A daca card that expires same day. Now I've seen it all.
