Question,

Can parents who are undocumented be witnesses for a civil marriage. My concern is that to enter a court building you need an valid form of ID. They are usually very strict when entering.

Thanks for any feedback.

A passport is a valid ID, they should try that.

Alright, thank you. You are right, that might work. Idk why I didn't think of that.

Johann you getting married? You still in Chicago? The court in Chicago doesn't require ID to get in.

Really? I have been to the Markham court and they are super strict about the ID.

Perhaps it is different in the city. I plan in getting married. Still planning phase though. Earliest I can do it is in October. I want to have enough time to react and save my job.

I expire next year September first.

I got my marriage license in Markham and they asked for my ID when I got the license but not when entering the building. I've been to the county courts in Skokie and Chicago and they've never asked for any ID to get in. Might just be me.

The AOS process was fairly quick for me (~4 months). Let me know if you have any questions.

It's in the works, I still have many questions and concerns. But I am preparing for something like that yes.

OT, but are you engaged?

I don't live in Chicago, but I didn't have to show any form of ID during my civil marriage.
