I'm a DACA recipient, don't expire until November 2018. ITodsy (they open on Saturdays) I walked in to the DMV with all of the documentation I needed based on their online information. The clerk was super nice, and didn't even require my DACA approval notice, which I had anyway because the website said it was a requirement for people under a deferred action.

Finally, she tried to submit my information and a message popped up saying something along the lines of "this person is ineligible for licensing due to immigration status".

Anyone know what the hell is going on or had a similar experience in Missouri or a different state?

I am transferring my license from Colorado.

Yes MO gives licenses to DACA.

I would try going to a different DMV and see if you get a different result.

If it comes up with the same issue at the other office, you should ask that they give you the specifics about why the immigration status is an issue. They need to at least tell you that so you can address it or challenge it

good luck!!

If you are a recent renewal it might have something to do with SAVE not being updated.

With SAVE though if it doesn't verify it instantly at the DMV, they then photocopy all your info and submit this additional information. Then the DMV will call you back once your information has been verified (usually 3-5 business days). You can also keep track of this yourself online. I saw I was verified about a day before DMV called me back to come in. It didn't sound as if this was the case unless the DMV worker was not familiar with the process.

I believe your hypothesis might be correct. I think it might a case where the person was not familiar with the process.

UPDATE:

Went to a different DMV. Denied again. The lady called her supervisor and wrote down what her supervisor told her. She literally said that Trump changed the law in June and that I need to call Immigration to change my status to be eligible for a license.

This is an absolute load of lies.

Mobilizing all of my contacts in immigrant rights and advocacy. This is messed up and I will not let this happen.
