I recently got married, I want to change my last name to my husbands last name, I contacted USCIS through the national telephone they provide on the website and I was informed by a service rep that I didn't need to reapply or submit a I-765 for a new one because I didn't need to renew and I had no cases pending. She stated that I could get a new EAD with my new last name just by writing my local USCIS office with a copy of my marriage certificate attached. Im just wondering if anyone has gone through the same process. I live in Maryland

Just follow what they told you. Marriage cert should be enough to prove it to anyone.

Let me know if this works for you. I'm still waiting to receive the marriage certificate in the mail but I want to change my last name. I'm just worried about all the paperwork and immigration.

Angelz, did you have any problems changing your social security card and getting a new DL with maiden name on the DACA card? I'm trying to figure out how to even start the process to change last name. BTW I'm in TX

No problem at all. I just waited for my eAC with my married name to arrived then I went to the Social Security office with a copy of the marriage certificate with the card and that's it I change it was so easy.

I did it here in New York

Where you able to change your last name? I am looking to also change my last name since I recently got married but when I called USCIS the service rep told me she wasn't sure how I could change it and that perhaps I would have to re-apply for everything again

I had to wait until daca renewal. I submitted a copy of marriage license and did all paper work with married last name. There's a section that asks for other names used or maiden name so I put my maiden name there. I went to DMV, ss office and they wouldn't let me change it until I updated ead card

I have the same situation and I'm not sure what to do.

I got my DACA renewed until 2020. I recently got married and I want to take my husbands last name. However, I'm not sure if that is going to mess up my current work permit.

I was told that I just need to change my name with social security office and dmv but I'm not sure about my work permit.

I will apply for a change of status but I'm not sure if I should just keep my maiden name. My lawyer thinks I should not overcomplicate it.

I don't know what to do =/
