I was wondering specifically what counts as a minor misdemeanor. Long story short, I ended up getting a citation/traffic ticket for speeding; I crossed a red light because I mistook it for a green light (the green light was from the other stop light ahead), and when I noticed a car midway I stopped and backed up. The police officer gave me a ticket with a court date (optional to show up), and told me to pay a fine. A lot of things where on my mind and I got the two lights confused, and I didn't notice that I was crossing a red light until there was an incoming car within my line of sight (and it was the cop's car). I felt really awful, and it was quite a day before that moment too. After doing some research, I found that my ticket is a class B one.

Would I be in trouble for applying for DACA (assuming it's still around next year)? It's not class A, this is scaring me. ANd I'm also afraid I could have my license taken away as well. I'm from Oregon. Any advice on what happens now? And what could happen with any future DACA? Please help!

Traffic tickets are usually infractions, not misdemeanors.

You usually get misdemeanors if you drive 25+ mph above the speed limit, DUI etc...

I would double check to see if yours was actually a misdemeanor.

I would also just want to say how ridiculous it is that we have to worry about things like this while others do much worse with reckless abandon -__-

You're worrying about traffic tickets while others have gotten GCs with DUIs. You should be fine. Apparently the standard is pretty low lol

You should be okay! It's basically a ticket. But if you got arrested, I would be concern.

You are fine. I had an arrest warrent in Texas for not paying a ticket this year. I paid it.. got it removed from record and was recently approved for DACA for the 3rd time. Good luck

Other than Reckless driving or DUI, you are fine.

Just to be safe, get a traffic lawyer and let the traffic lawyer plea bargain for you.

Just to be safe.
