Hello all,

Hoping I could get some help with this situation. I'm sure that there has been TONS of threads just like this one.

I'm planning to travel to Florida for 4 days pretty soon. My dilemma is, I have never traveled by plane before (mostly out of fear of the unknown - common fear for us folks). I have a license, but it is marked "Temporary" due to DACA status. Has anyone else traveled with an ID/license like this one? If so, did TSA ask for another form of ID? What did you show? and what was your experience?

I know that part of it all is most likely me overthinking absolutely everything. I appreciate any feedback/help/info.

Thank you!
Sundreamer.

If you are unsure, use your EAD.

Whilst I do not have a license that reads "temporary", I've used my EAD, Passport (and license) to get through security.

Edit: If you are sure there has been TONS of posts similar to this in the past, why not use the search button?

Thanks for the info!
Trust me, at this point I think I read all the other ones. I don't think any of them mentioned having a "Temporary" ID.

Even if it's expired? Mine literally expired last week.

I just flew to Miami from NYC and came back last week with my NY dl (one with "temporary visitor") and was never asked for another form of ID. I would take EAD just to be safe.

Good to know! I have just been freaking out because I see people post different things in regards to passport, EAD. Some say you shouldn't show EAD and others say you shouldn't show passport

See this link:
https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-...identification

It says temporary driver licenses are not a form of identification (whether that is referring to paper type or a license with the words "temporary" that's up to you.)

But if you look on there, ead i766 is valid.

Take your ead. I wouldn't risk your expired passport

EAD is a federal government issued ID, so you can use that. I'd bring both EAD and DL.
