We failed to pass any immigration reform law because there are a portion of American people are xenophobia ,racist or anti-immigrant .

We did not pass because of a lot of things. Not everybody who opposes CIR is racist.

I am opposed to a lot of what I see in CIR as I see it as just another route to exploit people. The minute we legalize people, they will leave crappy jobs ( like dreamers did ) and business will bring another group in to exploit.

I am against undocumeted immigration, and I am for increased legal immigration even for low skill work. People who come here legally will have more rights, and will be exploited less.

I believe in the melting pot, and for me that is represented by dreamers. Dreamers are part of America in a messed up way, because everyone messed with the immigration system in a messed up way.

I want to legalize dreamers without giving out a signal to the next group that want to jump the border. It is saying to a bunch of people that you should bring your kids to the US before they are 16 and they can get citizenship.

Where do you draw the line? Does CIR help "IAmAMan" get a green card ? Do we give citizenship to a kid that jumps the border in Feb of 2018 if he can manage not to commit a crime for 5 years ?

I am worn out and tired of all this. No one talks about compromise or the rules. We want to help undocumented people now, and then , as usual , we make it harder on the next wave of immigrants because they always add enforcement to these bills. That is how we got the 10 year bar.

The US has messed up immigration for so long, we keep running from crisis to crisis without ever actually fixing the problem, I don't know how we are ever going to get out of this hole.

Wouldn't a group always be exploited though? Legal immigrant low skilled workers or not? For there to be updogs, there must be underdogs. The goal should be to lessen the gap through good government incentives for the economy that boosts the market, and also through education.

It's definitely a very complex issue with many variables.

I am just saying that if the US increases the number of H2 visas and then enforces it the way they should, it would work out better. Right now if an undocumented immigrant is hurt on the job, the insurance company can have them deported. ( http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-w...mented-workers ) Instead on a visa, they can have disability and health insurance and get paid the prevailing wage.

Employers would rather hire someone illegal than pay a living wage a benefits. Until there is incentive to hire legal immigrants, they will keep doing it.
