Q: What will happen during the phaseout?

New DACA applications will no longer be accepted. Immigration officials will consider application requests "on an individual, case-by-case basis" that have been accepted as of Sept. 5.

Those whose DACA status is set to expire between now and March 5, 2018 may file for renewal once more. But they only have until Oct. 5. Renewal applications that come in after Oct. 5 will be rejected, according to officials.

For DACA recipients who planned to travel outside the country and applied for "advance parole," a necessary step for DACA recipients who planned to temporarily leave the U.S., they will have to cancel their plans. Homeland Security officials said this morning that pending applications for advance parole for DACA recipients will be canceled. Applicants will have their fees reimbursed.

Their guideline states that your expiration date must be before March, 5, 2018. I expire in Oct. and would send mine in before the Oct 5. deadline but I think it would just be returned and refunded.

It is too late unless you intend to drive to Washington DC in person.

Not even an overnight delivery will make it tomorrow's deadline.

Title is incorrect. Renewal applications will be able to be sent in until October 5 for those who expire before March 5 2018

Supposedly 8 people whose DACA expires in 2019 already applied for a renewal. However, they won't get it extended to 2021; they will simply get 2 additional years from the date of renewal approval.

I misread the LA times article.

You can still send in your renewal application until October.

For new applications, tomorrow is the deadline.

They don't accept new applications anymore.
