Quote:
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said Thursday that lawmakers "look forward" to receiving an immigration proposal from President Trump.

"We look forward to receiving the Trump administration’s legislative proposal as we continue our work on these issues," McConnell said in a statement.

McConnell also appeared to set his own goal posts for a potential deal, noting Congress is debating how to tackle undocumented immigration through border security and interior enforcement. "DACA should be a part of those discussions," he said.
Quote:
McConnell's comments come after he and Trump spoke on the phone earlier Thursday to discuss both border security and the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

I just hope Trump doesn't get spooked by the conservative backlash and reneges on the compromise.

Me too but he knows the backlash for rescinding DACA and deporting Dreamers will be even greater. He loves the ratings

He says he looks forward to receiving Trump's plan. He is not acknowledging the Dems on purpose.
