If a DACA renewal gets denied because of abandonment, would the applicant be able to reapply for DACA? Would a deportation be issued?

Re-apply? Probably not since they cancelled the program.

I wouldn't think they'd refer to a deportation unless you have a lot of criminal acts.

DACA Has Changed!

We are no longer accepting initial requests for DACA, but we will adjudicate initial requests for DACA accepted by Sept. 5, 2017.
We will no longer approve advance parole requests associated with DACA.
We are only adjudicating DACA renewal requests received by Oct. 5, 2017, from current beneficiaries whose benefits will expire between Sept. 5, 2017 and March 5, 2018.

Once a case/application has been denied you cannot reopen that case. Before 9/5/2017 you would have been able to start a new DACa case aka application. As of 9/5 USCIS is not accepting any new applicantions.

except it's a renewal.

So OP, if you expire before whatever the March date was, you got couple days left

(Or is a renewal tied to the original app)?

Are you expired? How long ago did you expire? There's an Oct. 5th deadline of application being accepted, so it's important that if you are eligible to still apply for renewal that you do very soon.

If you already expired, they will not accept the renewal application. It says so on the USCIS website. Let me find the link.

Here is the link
https://www.uscis.gov/news/news-rele...roaching-oct-5

It says if you expired already before September 5, you cannot file a renewal.
