Google Pixel XL 2

Dreamers,

Anybody getting the Google pixel 2 or XL 2?

I just pre-ordered mine. I am so happy

What did you guys think of the other Google products?

Looks good. Too bad they only make it for Verizon. I have a Samsuck S8 +. Beautiful phone.

I've had a Nexus 5 for almost 4 years now (preordered it too) and it was great because it was only $350, unlocked, and got instant updates from Google - came with KitKat when most phones were still on Jelly Bean. It got the Lollipop update the next year and even got Marshmallow in 2015 . My old Samsung phone prior to that was already a version behind and only got one update .

So needless to say, I was a BIG fan of the Nexus line and even have a couple of their tablets. Unfortunately, they got rid of the Nexus line and came out with the Pixel which was a great phone but a bit too rich for my blood and so I held off upgrading last year and was going to do it this year with the Pixel 2.

The problem I have now aside it being kind of pricey is that there is no phone jack! I need a phone jack because I often leave the phone on the charger and plugged into a stereo or external speakers. I have bluetooth headphones but I'm not getting rid of my stereo so I'm kind of pissed about that.

I will never buy another non-google phone (updates updates updates) unless they figure out how to decouple the hardware from the software updates the way windows does (or use drivers or whatever) so I'm stuck with the Pixel also.

It is not exclusive to Verizon.

They sell one for Verizon and one Unlocked.

People keep saying this marketing with Verizon makes people believe it is a Verizon only phone.

I agree it is expensive. I started with the Nexus 5 and then to the Nexus 6p, and now I have a Pixel that Google gave me for free.

This will be my first purchase for a XL. Looking forward to it.

getting the iPhone X at the end of the month...

I also want to get the iPhone X, but the price is putting me off. I could use $1k on more important things, such as rent and food. I wish I made more money.

I'd probably get the smaller phone and hold my nose. I guess I could join the "dongle life" and get a USB-C/headphone jack adapter...seems like the least messy work-around.

I don't like Google. They are what George Orwell envisioned. 1984. Look at my name. I have to flip my phone sideways when I'm pooping. Think they have a copious amount of footage from people ripping ass. DA PHUC??

I ordered the Pixel 2 XL, I currently have the S8+ because I couldn't find an unlocked Pixel when it came out, and when it was in stock, I wasn't going to pay that much money in a phone 6 months after its release. I have been a Nexus fan ever since the Nexus One, like IamAman said, it's all about the updates.
